Star Trek: Picard Delayed by 50 COVID Cases – Production Shut Down

Production on season 2 of Star Trek: Picard has had to be postponed due to more than 50 positive Covid results among the cast and crew – though Patrick Stewart is not among them.

Work on the second season was just about to begin following the Christmas break when results from the test came in with more than 50 affected from more than 450 staff members. Production was immediately shut down on Monday. Hope is that filming can resume in a week’s time.

Picard has been renewed for a third season, with seasons two and three now being filmed back to back.

The new season will see the return of Patrick Stewart alongside Alison Pill, Isa Briones, Evan Evagora, Michelle Hurd, Santiago Cabrera, Jeri Ryan, Orla Brady, John de Lancie as Q, Annie Wersching and Brent Spiner.
