Netflix has shared the first trailer for Sweet Tooth, an adaptation of the Jeff Lemire DC/Vertigo comic book.
The show follows the world after ‘The Great Crumble’ a cataclysmic event that ravages the world. A hybrid deer boy named Gus (also known as Sweet Tooth) befriends a loner and the two of them embark on an extraordinary adventure.
The eight-episode series is directed by Jeff Mickle who is writing the series alongside Ben Schwartz. The show is produced by Susan Downey and Robert Downey Jr along with the creator, Lemire, and stars Adeel Akhtar, Nonso Anozie and Will Forte, with newcomer Christian Convery in the titular role.
Lemire’s comic-book series, dubbed “Mad Max meets Bambi” was first published in September 2009 by DC imprint Vertigo, eventually running for 40 issues.
Sweet Tooth premieres on Netflix on June 4.
